NEW WYOMING COWBOY HALL OF FAME BOARD MEMBER

The Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame recently accepted longtime Region 3 Director Pete Kuhn’s resignation with deep regret. A serious horse wreck last summer left Pete incapacitated for a time and brought about his resignation. WCHF is indebted and forever grateful to Pete for the exemplary knowledge, ability, service and spirit he so willingly shared.

The new Region 3 Director elected to the empty chair is Georgeann (Mrs. Andy) Wearin of Cheyenne. Reared in Pine Bluffs, Georgeann brings a depth of cowboy background and knowledge to the position. A winner of numerous Little Britches and High School rodeo honors she was the first Cheyenne Little Britches Rodeo Princess, and reigned as Pine Bluffs Trail Days Queen. Her father James Darden was a cowboy and a saddle maker, as is one of her sons Coy Sheets of Miles City, Montana.

An award-winning cowboy poet and writer, Georgeann was the Academy of Western Artists Female Cowboy Poet of the Year 1999 and her poems and stories are widely published. Georgeann enjoys marketing and social media, is a member of “The Squash Blossoms” all-girl band, and serves as Communications Director for Cheyenne Hills Church.

Georgeann is pleased to again be living in Wyoming “where her heart and roots are”, after spending three decades on various ranches in the Nebraska Sandhills, most recently her husband’s Wearin Brothers Pitchfork Ranch. They love the cowboy way of life and enjoy traveling to rodeos and roping where her sons Tucker, Coy and Trey Sheets compete.
